Mariquita started scrapping more than 15 years ago, long before she knew there was an art called scrapbooking. “Argentina doesn’t really have a scrapbooking culture yet, so I used notebooks and pieces of wrapping paper, chocolate papers and magazines (anything I could find). Those albums were dedicated to friends and boys I was interested in LOL.”
Back in 2003, Mariquita was looking for clipart and inspiration for her first baby’s album and she found some digital scrapping sites. She was really frustrated for a while because she didn’t have the software or the knowledge and there wasn’t a place to take Photoshop classes in Argentina. Almost 3 years later, she got Photoshop CS2 and she found a site (Digital Scrapbook Place) where she could finally learn!!! Being an English translator helped her take the classes and start sharing her layouts with other girls and getting involved with the digital scrapbooking community.
Mariquita says her style is messy…lol!. “I tend to put too many things in my pages, and I love telling stories. My favorite type of page is Heritage.”
Her biggest inspiration is her kids and their anecdotes and old photographs and memorabilia. Her favorite tip/trick is, “I love shabby inked overlays, they give a perfect touch to any page ;)...and when I can I scan memorabilia to give my pages more authenticity.”
Mariquita has been published once in an online edition of Digital Scrapbooking Magazine, so keep your eyes out for her! :-) Her favorite font is Typewriter. When Mariquita is not digital scrapping she enjoys photography and filming her kids! :-)
