Karen lives in Denmark with her hubby Jacob and their son Asbjoern, who is 18 months old. She has been digital scrapping for about 1.5 years. She also does paper LOs and hybrid, when the inspiration hits. :) Karen gets inspired by looking in magazines - and in the many online galleries that she visits daily. There is so much talent out there! If she should were to put a label on her style it would be cozy, perhaps a little eclectic style. Karen always tries to get her LOs to look as realistic as possible - so she tends to spend a lot of time on her shadowing! Karen’s favorite tip is on making drop shadows look real. When she makes dropshadows on an element like ribbon or bows, first she makes a dropshadow that matches the "non-hanging" part - it might be kind of subtle. Then she right clicks on the layerstyle and chooses "Create Layer". This will make the shadow into a seperate layer. Then she makes another layer style on the original layer and creates a huge, long distance kind of shadow, so it looks like the bow is hanging down. And last she combines the two shadow layers and erases with a soft brush the parts that look odd. Karen loves fonts and has her own handwriting in a font (love that!) and she also uses Trebucket and a typewriter font called Typenoksidi alot. Karen has another hobby besides scrapbooking….cake decorating! She actually doesn’t like to bake..so she gets her dh to do that :) But she loves to decorate with sugarpaste and make fun figures and royal icing flowers. It looks good - but it doesn’t last like scrapbooking pages do!
