Shabby Princess Designs no longer offers any form of professional licensing - these terms are strictly for our customers who have applied for, been approved for AND paid for licensing.

Professional licensing is NO longer available - and please understand you ONLY have professional licensing on the SPECIFIC products that you licensed (if you never paid for your license <or received approval> - then you do NOT have a valid license and may NOT work with our products for anything beyond your OWN personal scrapbooking).

PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT OUR LICENSES REQUIRE YOU TO DO A HIGH LEVEL OF CUSTOMIZATION WORK FOR YOUR INDIVIDUAL CLIENTS.

Our licenses are NON-exclusive and are for SMALL businesses only and require customization for each item/product that you create using Shabby Shoppe products.  Please keep in mind that you are ONLY allowed to create items for personal use (i.e. you may create items to sell to clients for their personal use...but NOT for their business use - you can see more about this below in the FAQ's).  Examples of acceptable uses would be custom/personalized cards and announcements, custom/personalized and complete scrapbooks, custom/personalized collages, custom/personalized coffee table books, etc. Our licenses were designed with photographers, custom card designers and scrappers-for-hire in mind.  These kinds of applications require a designer to work one-on-one with their clients while creating a truly custom product and fit into our licensing structure perfectly.  Pre-packaged and generic products lack this level of involvement and are not supported with our terms.  This license is not intended for large business use, retail sales or re-distribution and does not allow for Shabby Shoppe products to be used by digital designers in creating their own kits, papers, elements, templates, piece-a-cake pages or promotional/marketing materials. Our products may NOT be used to create templates (website, blog, photography or scrapbooking, etc.), pre-made scrapbook pages, pre-made invitations or pre-made announcements etc. that are to be re-sold as is, or in print through any website or retail setting. Anything you create, must be intended for the end-client, and for personal use only.  Unless you have purchased a Limited Professional License, Shabby Shoppe products may be used for PERSONAL scrapbooking only.

YOU MAY:

Creatively work with these products in your small business (photography, custom cards and announcements, scrapping-for-hire, design) to the extent listed below:  You may create custom cards, layouts, calendars and invites for your own clients provided that they only receive final, flattened versions of the product (i.e. no psd files, no layered files, no individual papers/elements files, etc).  Each product must be changed/altered/customized for every client.  You may work with Shabby Shoppe products in your web and blog design projects, providing that proper credit is given for the graphics, and a new license is purchased for each site/blog.  You may display examples of your products created with Shabby Shoppe products on your site and in your portfolio to give your potential customers an idea of services provided.  You may create your own eBay page and Etsy banner/avatar with the purchase of a professional license.  If you wish to create eBay pages and Etsy banners for other businesses, it will require additional licensing.

You may NOT:

Claim these graphics as your own either in their original state, or in an altered/derivative state. You may not distribute these graphics in any format except for the uses defined above.  In no way may you design templates with these pages to sell on any CD, website, eBay, Etsy, or in any other form.  This includes simple designs that only require you to change out a name for a new client (i.e. address labels where you sell the same design over and over, and only have to change the text for each customer). You may not print or have printed these papers for sale or distribution via internet, kits, retail locations or any other venue.  You may not share these files with friends, family, etc.  Please feel free to direct them to the Shabby Shoppe.  You may not sell these graphics in their purchased format (i.e. sell individual pieces…you may only create a new product for the purpose of selling custom, individual items…no mass production of products).  You may not produce projects for mass production or distribution. This license allows for small business use only.  Again, you may not create templates in any way.  All items must be custom created for one customer only.  You may not work with Shabby Shoppe products in ANY print-on-demand projects (CafePress, Zazzle, etc.).  Shabby Shoppe professional licenses are not meant for use in the digital scrapbooking industry (i.e. digital designers may not purchase a license to create kits with SP's products).  You may NOT design products that will be sold by someone else (i.e. you may NOT create items for a photographer who will then sell that product to their client - YOUR client must be the END USER).

HOW DO I KNOW IF WHAT I AM DOING IS CONSIDERED PROFESSIONAL USE?

The easiest answer and general rule of thumb to remember is that all of our products are for PERSONAL scrapbooking use only.  Anything that goes above and beyond that is going to require additional permission or licensing.  Our kits are created for personal scrapbooking, but we realize the need that photographers, scrappers-for-hire and web designers have for graphics to work with.  That is why we decided to offer our professional licensing.  So, if you are strictly creating your own personal scrapbook pages, you do NOT need any form of licensing.  If you would like to work with our products to design your PERSONAL, FAMILY blog or site, you will not need a license.  But, please understand that our definition of a PERSONAL website or BLOG is very specific.  For us, a PERSONAL blog/site is your OWN (not one that you create for someone else) personal blog/site that is intended strictly for family and friends to visit...a place where you share your family photos and updates.  If the blog/site promotes or advertises a business, features affiliate links, Google ads, paid advertising, etc - then it would be considered professional/commercial and would require licensing.

CAN I CREATE PRODUCTS FOR A PHOTOGRAPHER (or other professional)?

No.  Again, anything you create must be for the END USER.  Meaning that you may only create items to sell to your own, personal clients.  For example, a professional photographer wishes to hire you to create invitations/cards/albums/etc. for his/her clients.  This would not be allowed.  The photographer could work with our products on a professional basis, but - you cannot work with our products to sell to a photographer so that they can sell to their client.  This example goes for scrappers-for-hire and all others as well.  We have our own collection of products for photographers here at the Shabby Shoppe, and do not allow others to create those kinds of professional items with our products.

CAN I CREATE ITEMS FOR BUSINESSES (i.e. business cards, Etsy banners/avatars, tags, labels, etc.)

 In a nutshell, NO :o)  Again, our licensing is meant to allow you to create customized items to your end client for personal use.  We really do not offer 'professional use FOR professional use' licensing.  The price would be much higher for this kind of use.

MAY I WORK WITH YOUR PRODUCTS TO CREATE BLOG HEADERS TO SELL -or- TO CREATE WEBSITE DESIGNS TO SELL?

With the purchase of a professional license, you may work with the Shabby Shoppe products to create CUSTOM blog headers and CUSTOM website designs for your clients.  Please understand that blog headers and website designs are NOT the same as Etsy banners.  However, please keep in mind that you may NOT create blog headers/templates/themes/etc. to be sold over and over again.  Each blog design must be customized for one client and a new license is required for each new site/blog/client (a new license per site/blog and per product worked with).  If you create a specific design that you wish to resell, you may do so IF you are doing all of the customization work yourself for the clients, and again - a NEW license must be purchased for each new site/client.  For example - you create a blog design that you name FLOWER GARDEN with our BLOSSOM COLLECTION.  You customize that design for customer a (let's call her Jane) and all is well.  You now wish to offer this same design again, to customer b (let's call her Betty).  You may do so as long as you are customizing the blog/site just for Betty and purchasing a new license for her site/blog.  At this point, you have purchased the Blossom collection only once, and applied and paid for TWO professional licenses for the Blossom collection (one for Jane's site and one for Betty's site).  You have technically sold the same design twice, but both times, customizing it specifically for one client.  You may NOT sell blog/site designs which allow your customer to do any editing or customizing with our graphics.

MAY I WORK WITH YOUR KITS TO CREATE MY WEBSITE OR BLOG DESIGN?

With the purchase of a professional license, you may work with the Shabby Shoppe products to create and design your business or boutique website/blog.  We work with many small business owners who just wish to make their site 'pretty' with our digital scrapbooking products.  The only exception to this answer, is if you are in the digital scrapbooking industry - in that event, we kindly ask that you not work with our graphics as it causes confusion within the community.  However, boutique store owners, photographers, etc. - our kits will add the perfect touch of whimsy and style to your sites!  You will just need to apply for the license...one for each product or kit you plan to work with in your design.  We do kindly ask for a line of credit to the Shabby Shoppe on at least one page of your site.

MAY I CREATE THANK YOU CARDS, MONOGRAMMED CARDS OR OTHER GENERIC CARDS WITH YOUR PRODUCTS/LICENSING?

Unfortunately, these kinds of generic and pre-packaged products do not include the level of customization required for our licensing terms.  Our licenses were designed with photographers, custom card designers and scrappers-for-hire in mind.  These kinds of applications require a designer to work one-on-one with their clients while creating a truly custom product and fit into our licensing structure perfectly.  However, pre-packaged and generic products lack this level of involvement and are not supported with our terms.

I DESIGN JEWELRY IN MY HOME WHICH IS THEN SOLD AT LOCAL BOUTIQUES, MAY I WORK WITH YOUR PRODUCTS IN MY JEWELRY?

Unfortunately, while we LOVE the fun jewelry created with digital scrapbooking products - when sold in a retail setting, jewelry lacks the level of customization required with our licensing terms.  So, this is not something that would be covered with our licenses.  However, if you were to create a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry for a client which included their photo and/or name (not sold in a retail store), that would be allowed with the purchase of a license.

IF I AM DESIGNING CUSTOM CARDS, ANNOUNCEMENTS OR SCRAPBOOKING LAYOUTS, DO I HAVE TO PURCHASE A NEW LICENSE FOR EACH CLIENT?

For the most part, the only time you would be required to purchase a new license for each client is when designing websites and/or blogs.  If you are purchasing licensing simply to create custom cards or scrapbook pages for your clients, then you are only required to pay for one license per product.  This license is valid for multiple customer/clients as long as our terms are adhered to.  Again, when it comes to web and blog design, you ARE required to apply for and purchase a new license for each new site/blog/client.

AM I REQUIRED TO GIVE CREDIT TO THE SHABBY SHOPPE ON THE PRODUCTS I CREATE?

 While we always appreciate credit for our graphics, it is only REQUIRED when creating custom blogs and websites.  For these, we ask for the following verbiage somewhere on the site (graphics licensed by www.theshabbyshoppe.com).

I WANT TO PURCHASE A LICENSE FOR THE HAPPY GO LUCKY KIT (OR OTHER FREE SP KIT) AND CANNOT FIND IT ON THE LIST?

We never allow any kind of professional use with our free kits which are available for download at www.shabbyprincess.com.  The only exception to this is when these free products are used in the creation of our calendars and holiday cards.  In those instances, you may find the derivative products (created by the Shabby Shoppe) available, however, the original kits/products themselves are not available for professional use.

I WOULD LIKE TO PURCHASE A LICENSE FOR YOUR PROFESSIONAL USE HOLIDAY CARDS, BUT CANNOT FIND THEM ON THE LIST?

Any of our PROFESSIONAL USE PRODUCTS sold in the Shabby Shoppe will be clearly marked as such.  These products are generally limited to our holiday card collections.  We offer both a personal use version and a professional use version in these products, pre-packaged for your convenience.  You will see that if you purchase the PROFESSIONAL USE VERSION of these products, the limited professional license is included with your purchase.  As a result, you will not find these products listed here on the professional licensing pages since the license is already includes in your purchase price.  This is something we do each year as a thank you to our wonderful professional customers.  We keep the price super low and the process super simple.  As always, you will find the terms on the product page as well as in the terms of use file located in your download .zip file.

I CREATE AND SELL CUSTOM/PERSONALIZED PRODUCTS IN MY ETSY STORE, MAY I WORK WITH SHABBY SHOPPE PRODUCTS IN MY SMALL ETSY BUSINESS?

As long as our terms are followed, you may.  We do not differentiate between independent websites and Etsy stores.  As long as you meet our terms in regards to level of customization, no pre-packaged items, no templates, etc. - then you are more than welcome to offer your custom creations at the etsy site.  Also, please keep in mind that you may only create products for personal use - you may NOT create professional items for businesses (i.e. business cards, flyers, etc.).

MAY I CREATE TREAT BAG TOPPERS AND CUPCAKE WRAPPERS TO SELL?

You may as long as EACH topper/wrapper/etc. is CUSTOMIZED AND PERSONALIZED for one customer only.  For example, you may NOT create treat bag toppers (or other goodies) that simply feature a phrase or greeting like HAPPY HALLOWEEN or MERRY CHRISTMAS.  These would be considered pre-made and would not be allowed under our terms.  However, if you created a CUSTOM product that featured their name, greeting and/or photo, that would be allowed.  The final product must be presented to your customer by way of a printed product, or flattened .jpg or flattened .png file (your customer may NOT have the ability to edit these items).  Please keep in mind that you may only create products for personal use.  If you wish to create items to sell to businesses (small business only) - additional licensing is required.

MAY I WORK WITH YOUR PRODUCTS IN MY SCRAPBOOKING KITS/DESIGNS?

I'm very sorry, but our professional licenses are not intended for use in the digital (or paper) scrapbooking industry.

MAY I CREATE PIECE-A-CAKE OR QUICK PAGES WITH YOUR KITS??

We do not allow any kind of template creation (scrapbooking, website, blog, etc.) with our products (even with the purchase of a license).

I CREATE BLOG THEMES, BLOG DESIGNS, WEBSITE DESIGNS, TEMPLATES, QUICK PAGES, ETC. TO SHARE FOR FREE -- DO I STILL NEED A PROFESSIONAL LICENSE?

I'm very sorry, but this is not something that is allowed within our terms.  Even with the purchase of a professional license, you may NOT create items to share for free download.  Again, any and all items created with Shabby Princess products must be customized for your client/customer and may not be sold over and over.
