Five17Creations Shabby Artist Registered: September 2010 Location: Austin, TX Posts: 1,237	I'm not sure I'm 100% happy with this one (just being honest!), but my kids' birthdays seem like they're back to back to back and I've been scrapping lots of birthday stuff recently! I needed to call this one done and move on to the next birthday - lol! We did certainly have fun with this birthday. There was a big "lego knight" party that's not seen in this layout, but it was a super big hit! I really like this one! love the colour match between his shirt and the candles/polka dot paper. also the way you positioned the pictures and embellishments! I think it's super balanced and quite unique!

You always come up with the coolest techniques, Kim! Love the candles and strips of paper here. and I've decided that it's ok not to love every layout that I do, sometimes it's more important to move on than to make every page perfect!

Thanks ladies! Rosy, you are so right about not having to make each page perfect! Right now I tend to focus on a few special pages that I work a long time on, then I'll create some much simpler, more "collage" style pages to go in my books too.... because I have so many pics to scrap! But sometimes you have this idea in your head and it doesn't end up the way you expected. Sometimes I have to step back from the layout a bit, know what I mean?

I love the vertical paper strips and stitching in this! It draws your eyes right to the photos! The colors are great, and I LOVE all the stars! And, of course, I LOVE his smile! :0)
