This was an experiment for me to see if I could make an emotionally poignant page that spoke for itself without me doing any actual journaling. I tend to talk a lot. ^_~ I wanted to make it clear what it was, and I think I did that. The school stuff makes it obvious that this was a first day of school for my kids (along with the title and grades). Fading out the other pic of me in the hospital after giving birth to my youngest was meant to convey that this photo happened in the past. Including the photo was my attempt at visually saying "they used to be my babies, and now here they go...", which is a common sentiment of first day of school pages, right? ^_~
I wanted to mention, too, because I forgot to do it before, that the footprints I used on the layout came straight from the Photoshop shapes in the little shape tool. I made several of them, merged all of the layers, then added another sheet of the same cream cardstock on top of that layer and hit Ctrl-G (I'm on a PC). I then added a shadow, then played with the shadow to make it look like they were right on top of the other page. It ended up just looking like outlines, which is fine with me.
