This has been my little project for the month of July. I've had this plain wooden teabox sitting on my desk for months now and I thought it was about time to do something with it. So I spent most of the month sanding, painting, glueing and so on with lots of dry time in between.
I made the edges of the box dark blue before painting the whole box cerulean blue. That way I could sand the edges and also have the darker blue come out. Then I used the Once in a Blue Moon papers and a little bit of Barefoot elements for the top to cover the box.
The inside of the lid went a little wrong at first, because the paper went all 'bobbly' so I ended up covering it with 3D paste and another layer of paint.
On the lid I added paper flowers and a little gem and then I finished off the whole box (inside and out) with a transparent furniture laquer which gives it a very smooth and shiny finish. And also enables me to clean it every now and then.
Now I just have to wait until the paint smell is gone and then I can begin using it!
