My parents just retired and are in the process of listing their house, so many things such as the early Christmas photos are in a box somewhere ready to be sent to me. Just not in time for a blog challenge (how dare they? lol) Being a new parent and combining and creating new traditions, really had me thinking about what I remember the most and this is it - the first photo of the morning, of my sister and I with my little brother sitting at the top of the stairs. Just wish I could share one of those but oh well. Not sure if this will qualify for the blog challenge, but I'll share the new generation of the first photo...
Sugarplum Dreams (haven't gotten that additions kit yet - need to!), glitter from Sandbox additions (the blue color is a perfect fit with Sugarplum), the snowflake shape and the felted tree are from Seasonal Sampler - Holiday. The sloppy scallop trim shape I created in Illustrator, along with the doodle frame. The doodle frame has Hopscotch Additions paper. (I'm loving my new Wacom Bamboo tablet! thank you Santa!)
Journaling:
Since I was a little girl, my sister, brother and I always sat at the top of the stairs waiting to see what Santa brought us. Now being a parent myself, I realize it was so Mom and Dad could get a cup of coffee just to survive the early wake up! We always got up early, usually with Mom and Dad sending us back to bed a couple of times. So, anxiously waiting, full of excitement and wonder, we sat together with magical smiles. Mom or Dad would snap off a picture. I don’t think we missed a year. Today, we don’t have stairs, but the tradition has become a part of my little family, and this is the first one of both of my little girls together waiting for magic.....
