A scraplift of Georgeinci's amazing layout "Grumpuss" chosen by the lovely Karen for her Thursday Thievery blog post.

I so loved being inspired by georgeinci - her layouts are AMAZING!!! And I'm afraid I stuck very, very close to her original design. How could I not...it's perfection!!!

For my version I used quite a few Shabby Princess kits - mainly Sandbox and the Sandbox SUMMER additions. Plus a couple of pieces from Summer cottage (blue 'beach' label, string ties/bows), an affair to remember (blue heart), HopScotch (arrow stamp and yellow heart) and the Blossom collection (white paper).

I also used some K Lewis white stitching.

These are two old pics of me when I was around two years old. "Love" the bonnet!! My journaling reads:
Memories from growing up at the beach. (Always living right on the coast helped, of course). Building sandcastle cities - a moat was a must, filled carefully with water from my bucket - and decorating them with shells and washed up seaweed collected while walking along the shore. Digging holes and burying myself up to my waist then trying to wriggle free. Collecting pippies in my bucket to take home and play with until they started to smell. Paddling and running around in the foamy shallows and then as I got older and braver, swimming out until I couldn’t quite touch the bottom. Tip-toeing around the rock pools looking for little crabs and trapped fish and even more shells. Being dunked by many a wave and getting water up my nose and a swimsuit bottom full of sand, and going back for more dunking and even more sand. Playing with my sister and brothers, walks with Mum, BBQ’s on Dad’s portable self-made hotplate with a driftwood and palm frond style fire and ice-creams on the way home...... fun memories!

      Thanks for peeking!

i LOVE this Kylie!! you cracked me up though - you "think" it was 1977 and you "think" it was at the Point If only our mums had digital scrapbooking in their lives, we'd KNOW the year, the date, the event, and most likely - exactly what we did the Tuesday before the photo was taken, LOL!
And now on to your gorgeous layout.... LOVE the way you stapled the title, love the waves peeking out behind it at the top! wonderful layout - love the way the oranges in the photos go so well with the blues and greens of your papers and elements. Excellent lift!!

I loved your "beach babe" title. Just with the staples! In fact, this was my "favorite" thievery in the blog post. I loved your journaling and your photos and all the memories you captured. Just like Beckie, I at your statements on the tabs!

Great layout Kylie. I could so relate to your journaling, having grown up by the beach myself and having siblings who could double for fish! I just wish my parents had a camera when I was young, but there are only a few pics of me and I'm usually with my sisters.

As for your layout, I just love the title and the way it's stapled. The colours are fab too. Well done!

oh Kylie, these baby pics of you are just the cutest!! And this is a most awesome scraplift! You used Sandbox here to perfection. Your journaling truly transports me to the beach, I can just visualize all of those "sandy" moments. Can't wait to see more baby pics and read the stories...
