Journaling reads: "We were all having a great time! Trey was dressed as a dog and Emma as a cat. We went from room to room at our church’s Trunk or Treat that had been moved inside in case of bad weather. We got loads of candy! I started to notice Trey was getting hot in his costume. So, I asked if he wanted me to take it off. At first he acted like he might let me. Then he changed his mind and said no. Just a little bit later, I noticed him seem sluggish and hot. I took his costume and undershirt off. I didn’t care what anybody thought. He sat in the hallway eating his candy and people walked by jokingly calling him Captain Underpants since that is all he had on. We decided to go and as we were leaving, Trey locked his eyes on a light above his head. Luckily Dad was holding him and immediately noticed something was not right. I hollered to Dad to get us to a hospital. Emma was practically thrown in the backseat and left unbuckled. I put Trey on my lap and held his head up with my hands. He was unresponsive to anything we would say or do. I jacked up the air conditioning and Dad switched into police-mode and drove us high-speed down Bryan Blvd while talking to a 911 operator. We connected with a firetruck and ambulance on the side of the road. It had started to rain as I put my baby in an EMT’s grasp. They put him on a gurney in the ambulance and began asking me questions. The EMT were so kind and very soothing to me. I was so scared and worried that I would lose my sweet baby boy right then and there. Sometimes he would look at me when I called his name but too often he would barely even act like he heard me and he wasn’t speaking for sure! They took us to the hospital and took Trey’s temperature. It was 103.8 after one dose of Mortin. No telling what it was earlier. The ER staff were so kind to us and alternated Motrin and Tylenol until Trey’s fever began to break. Thankfully it did and Trey fell asleep in my lap on his hospital bed. After talking with the ER Pediatric doctor, we were told that Trey had had a febrile seizure and while scary, there would be no lasting side effects. We were discharged after Trey’s fever came down to 99 degrees and we walked would paying only $100 towards a $250 bill. We would gladly pay a million dollars to be assured of our children's well being. As we left, I breathed a huge sigh of relief and thanked God for my children's health. There are so many kids who are not as fortunate. Thankfully God answered my frantic prayers on what turned out to be a very scary night."

I was on the edge of my seat as I read your hair-raising journaling!!! My dd Bre has had a seizure and there is nothing more scary. I am so glad that Trey is okay!!! I think it's important to document moments like this. They really make you count your blessings!!! Quite the frightening night! I'm glad that your prayers were answered!!!

My heart goes out to you. How scary! I would never think to scrap this, but these moments are important too. I think I will scrap a page about the day we had to call the ambulance for Laura at a restaurant {shudder}. She was only 7 weeks old and aspirated on her own saliva. Had to do the whole 'is there a doctor here!?!' A college kid who was a lifeguard did cpr (no compressions) and got her breathing right again. I still can't go into that restaurant. Lol.

So glad things turned out okay and I love that you scrapped this. Sometimes days like that go by so fast and it's good to remember things and how it made you feel, and yes, to count your blessings! And he made a very cute Doggie AND Captain Underpants!
