There's a story behind this - my husband casually mentioned this evening during my scrap time that he hoped I was in some of the scrapbook. If you think about it, we rarely scrap about ourselves. I don't know about you, but it's awkward for me. Plus, I'm the one usually behind the camera. But then I thought if it was my husband making a scrapbook for our family (insert hysterical laugh here), I would be really sad and disappointed that he wasn't in it considering he is an integral part of the family. Coincidentally, I happen to run across this layout today - wish I could take credit for this list layout but I can't - http://blog.dsp.me/ - and thought it would be challenging but fun to try. However, I made my husband come up with the list of words when he thought of me. Had to laugh at the 'smartwool socks' (I wear them all the time and wear out at least three pair a year), and a bit embarrassed by the 'sexy'. Clementine, tan background from Summer Cottage So there you have it!

This is just so touching - I'm inspired to do the same now! (One for everyone close in the family!). I know what you mean about including ourselves - its tricky and I guess I always feel a bit vain (don't know why, I'm sure in twenty years time I will love to look at the 'younger' version of myself!!!) Your photograph is amazing - beautifully angled. I really did have to chuckle when you mentioned your husband making up the scrapbooks - LOL - if he's anything lke mine it really would be something to look at!!!!

lol, let's just say I thought my daughter did the cutting of the shapes on the card. And the gluing.... it has her handprint on it and I just love it because it's from both of them. So cute and so horribly bad all at the same time. LOL! Hmm, I'll have to see if I can scan it in....

oooh! I love this!! it's like getting to know you!! ok - what are smartswool socks? I was wondering! and how sweet that your hubby even asked if you were in the pages! my hubby is such a "dude"...he would never think to ask about that, and he definitely couldn't come up with a list! (it's not as bad as it sounds - but words aren't his strong suit, lOL!).
in fact, I made a scrapbook page of our 1st anniversary...a photo of us at dinner, and a "he said", "she said" section of the page for each of us to reflect on our first year of marriage. 11 years later, his half is still empty. punk.

LOVE the photo, LOVE getting to know you! cool use of all those fonts, too!

Mariquita - You're so sweet!

Beckie - I think it was more of a 'if you are spending that much time, it better be good' kind of question. He's a bit annoyed at the moment of how much I'm spending scrapping. It's my current creative escape.

He's not big on words either so this surprised me. Once in a while he reminds why I fell in love with him (not often

). He said she said page - cute idea! Better if he would fill his side though. punk is right. lol. oh yeah, they're just merino wool socks ( https://www.smartwool.com/default.cfm ). They are so soft and are a fave among outdoorsmen/women. Well, at least they're popular here in CO. You can get them at REI.

I love this idea! I don't think I've ever scrapbooked a page about myself, you've inspired me to think about one I would create now.... You've done a wonderful job and I love your photo and all the different fonts you've chosen. Beautiful!

i can't tell you how much i LOVE seeing mommy pages

just think of how much this will mean to your little ones later on in life?! i also adore the fact that your husband gave you the idea AND the words - what a sweetie

i totally agree with his thoughts (and yours) - it is so important! i know that when i first started scrapping - i did quite a few 'me' pages...but haven't in quite some time! fortunately - i do 'hand my camera' to my hubby often - so we have lots of pages of me and the little man (i just do not generally post those)...but very few of just me...and even fewer of ALL of us together

thanks for the reminder and the GORGEOUS inspiration! i love how you cropped yourself...it totally adds to the interest and almost 'drama' of the page!

a few pages that i have scrapped in the past were MOMMY'S FAVORITE MUSIC (i think he will enjoy looking back when i am way older and super uncool...and read about the music i loved)...MOMMY'S FAVORITE BOOKS (i would love to know what my mom was interested in when she was my age)...FUN FACTS ABOUT MOMMY (at 30) and so on! most of these do not even have photos on them...just journaling and a little creativity

whew...anyway - just some more ideas because i know we are not always in the photos...or maybe just do not want to do a bunch of pages with our pics on there (why is that? lol)!
