I have been working on this album on and off for three years. I decided to upload the layouts using Shabby Princess kits.
Journaling reads: Email has revolutionized communication. Today you can send written communication to people all over the planet within seconds or, at the most, minutes. Email is an invention of our time that rivals Alexander Graham Bell’s invention of the telephone. Although less personal than the telephone, email allows us to communicate at our convenience. Consequently, we’re not always at the mercy of a telephone ringing. We can scan and email printed documents as well as send electronic documents at a phenomenal speed. We can communicate with several people in various locations across the globe while typing only one message. I think back to Mike’s two tours in Vietnam and his one tour in Korea. While he was in Korea we communicated through letters and occasional telephone calls. My long distance bill was often $400 per month. While he was in Vietnam, we sent letters to each other daily, writing each of them long-hand. Very personal communication, yes; but, it required a lot of time, and getting a response to any questions posed in a letter could take weeks. With the advent of Email, letter writing is becoming a lost art. That’s sad in some respects, but life moves at the speed of change. The old has to make way for the new. But someday, we may see letters on display in the Smithsonian as an ancient form of written communication. And, we’ll have our small place in history.
