Somehow, Breleigh got attached to this little Carter’s wash cloth when she was a baby. I guess it had something to do with me nursing her and there always being one handy. Well, at one point, she didn’t discriminate... she was OK with any burp cloth. But eventually she grew fond of this particular kind of wash cloth. She would point at it and kind of grunt, and we’d ask her, “This? Is this what you want?” Thus “This” was born. We started with four of them and eventually had to go buy a new set after losing a couple. She lets us wash them and, for a while, if we gave her a clean one, she called it a “New This!” It can be used as a This Hat, a This Scarf or even a This Belt. But, what it’s most often used for is comfort. Breleigh loves her This, and she uses it when she sucks her thumb. It is so sweet, and this picture, that was taken by Sharon at Starbucks one day, captures Breleigh and her This perfectly.
