My mom is talented in so many ways, but perhaps one of the most meaningful ways she blesses us is with the beautiful quilts she creates. This l/o was a little tribute to her. I used mostly Gabby but also stitches from Autumn Medley.

Such a very special layout! The stitching and paper choice is lovely. Your mother makes absolutely beautiful quilts...wow what a talent! I've been meaning to buy a sewing machine for a while now (my mum taught me to sew when I was little) and this clinches it...I'm inspired! TFS!!!!!

thanks, ya'll! My mom's quilts are so precious to me... She recently started using these floral pinwheels "thingys"- can't remember what they're called- in order to save her wrist from carpal tunnel, but she always embroideries or cross stitches part of it. One reason why I so love SP kits with all the embroidery elements. Nothing like that "hand finished" feel... BTW, I have a quilt that mom worked on with her grandmother, made from old velvet scraps. I read recently where it's a good idea to store vintage quilts in an white pillowcase (zippered, I'm assuming). Got to put that on my list of TTD! Thanks, again...

Hi Lu! Just wanted to let you know that I finally bought a sewing machine! YAY! Can't wait to start quilting! - and then maybe work my way up to hand stitching - one day!! I love to cross-stitch too, so to combine the two - YAY! Thanks for the inspiration and thanks to your Mum (I mean MOM - the different spellings always get me! LOL!) XOX
