Hello everyone, it’s Jenelle here with a big “Happy New Year” to you all!!  My first post back for this new year and I am so excited, because I get to choose our layout of the week winner!  Although this is a quite a daunting task (as there are way too many great layouts to choose from), I do so enjoy going through the gallery and admiring all the wonderful talent here and drawing inspiration from you all – our wonderful community members.

One of our members, embellishedangel, has been a very busy scrapper this week and her gallery is bursting with new layouts, mostly from a recent trip to Seattle.  I’ve chosen her layout called ‘Holly’s Fish Catch’ as our LOTW.  Check it out!

First up, I have to say that I really love the colour scheme embellishedangel has chosen for this layout and the addition of those metal stars and brown stitching really ties the whole page together beautifully.   Plus, I really loved reading the journalling from their visit to the fish market – not your usual run-of-the-mill trip to market, I must say!  Lots of fun and a great memory documented.

Hello and Happy New Year!  Beckie here :)  I know, I’m a bit late with my greeting – but this is my very first post of the year and I just couldn’t begin today’s post without saying that first!  I had a wonderful holiday break – I got to spend lots of time with the family and I even had time to read and play with my camera quite a bit!  One of the joys of the kids getting older, I suppose – a little time for ME every now and then, since the kids entertain themselves a bit more!  Anyhow, I’m happy to be back and eager to bring this week’s little slice of inspiration…the Layout of the Week!  You won’t be disappointed by this one – it’s a totally gorgeous layout created by whites19 called “Kairos“.

There were so many WONDERFUL layouts in the gallery this week and, as usual, I had a very hard time making my selection!  But after I read the text I knew this was the layout for me :)  My scrapbook is filled with pages of bright, happy, smiling faces…but our lives are so much more than that.  I have been thinking that this year I want to journal more and document REAL life (something I’ll cover soon in an Inspiration post!) – and this layout by whites19 perfectly nails the theme of what I hope to create for myself this year.  A lot of the good-amazing-incredible moments and maybe even a few of the bad ones…but a whole lot of the reality that is our lives <3  Read the text to see what I mean (there’s a link in her layout credits!).  Whether you’re a parent or not, there’s an interesting perspective there to be gained.

And, of course, in true whites19 fashion…the layout itself is a stunner :)  All that delicious text…and the cute little hearts thrown in there to break it up.  The stitching around the edges and the perfectly delicate flowers and elements around the border.  And the title in the center with the photos in the letters – perfection.

ADORABLE, huh!!!  The sleeping baby pics are just too precious!  And I love the way lala777 has re-worked one of our challenge templates to suit both her photos and the her milestone journaling.  I’m a big fan of all the layered polka-dot papers too…oh and the paper pinwheel and folded hearts are the sweetest additions!  You must check out lala777’s gorgeous gallery and all the cute, cute month-by-month baby album pages…awesome scrapping!

Hi everyone!!!  WE’RE BACK from our BLOG VACATION!!!  YAY!!! :o)

Kylie here…well, sort of!  I’m still on my little family holiday but am dropping in to WELCOME everyone back!  And what a lovely way to kick off 2012 here at the Shabby Shoppe Blog with all the Layout of the Week winners…posted in our ever-inspirational gallery over the last four weeks!  So let me get right to it…

First we have JOY by sthruby…

I’ve long admired sthruby’s gorgeous gallery, especially all her 8.5×11 pages!  And this sweet, sweet Santa page caught my eye straight away!  I just love the mix of kits…surprisingly not traditional holiday kits…but a lovely mix of Damask & Dots and Gracie (plus a few other little trimmings) – beautifully creative!  And the photo is a treasure!

Next we have a couple of stunners from SparkysGirl2…

I chose the fun and extra-delicious ‘Did Someone Say Party!’ for our 2nd week of vacation LOTW…I love the use of all the scrolls, the unique design and I’m a big fan of recipes on layouts too! ;o)  While admiring this winning page I also spied another gem the very talented SparkysGirl2 posted to the gallery while we were away!  …and, I just HAD TO share it with you today.  The flower clusters and the simple black and white photos are beautiful on this precious Sisters page.  Seriously AMAZING digi-scrapping, don’t ya think?!!…and you MUST check both pages out in more detail…here & here!

And now for A Day at the Beach by joelsgirl…

Being in the midst of summer myself this fantabulously beachy page could not be overlooked!  I just love it!!  Awesome use of all those different stamps, rub-ons and stickers, and gotta love all the FUN photos and gorgeous smiles!  PERFECTION!! :o)

Last, but certainly not least, is sixtyschild and one of her December ProjectSCRAP pages…

This pretty layout popped right out at me while I was browsing through the gallery.  For me, the purple and green combination is sooo eye-catching!  And, I love the little layered flowers with sweet little heart centres and of course the wonderful mother and daughter photo speaks volumes – precious!!!

Hello & Happy MONDAY! – Kylie here.  I hope everyone had a very enjoyable weekend and you’re all looking forward to the week ahead!  I don’t know about you, but things are already getting a little too chaotic for my liking…’tis the season, afterall!  I keep telling myself: pause, breathe and remember not to miss all those special festive moments despite being in the midst of all kinds of busy! (Is talking to myself working?! Probably not! LOL!!)  Well, one of those special (and forever ‘festive’) moments that I have thankfully paused for is hosting Layout of the Week!  Ahhhh, Gallery browsing really is the best therapy!

This week I chose Budding Artist by Lily_of_the_Valley!

Bright and cheerful were the first words that came to mind when I caught sight of this beauty…it was seriously too gorgeous and creative to pass by without taking a closer look!!  A happy, happy colour scheme. a fun mix of kits, artistic brushwork and gorgeous, gorgeous clustering…perfect combination to help tell the story behind the photo of this budding little artist.  And it is such a lovely photo – all smiles!!  So much talent!  Your layout has certainly brightened up my day, Lily_of_the_Valley…I hope a little Shabby Shoppe shopping will add a little ray of sunshine to yours!
