1. Add three photos, one solid paper, and three patterned papers to your layout.
2. Add five different types of elements to your page.  You may use as many of each element type as you wish! Examples of element types include: buttons, flowers, digi stamps/brushes, ribbons, etc.
3. Add one frame to your page.
4. Add one type of “fastener” in at least three different places.  Examples of fasteners include:  tape, stitching, photo corners, staples, brads, pins, etc.  If you pick stitching, you must use stitching in at least 3 different places.  If you pick tape, you must use tape in three different places, etc.
5. Add one item that is either metal, cardboard, or fabric to your layout. Even if you previously used one of these items for #2 or #4, select another item now!
6. Create a title from two different fonts or alphas.  You can use one font + one alpha, two different alphas, or two different fonts!

That’s it!  you’ve now received all 6 of your instructions. You may not add any other elements your page that haven’t been explicitly stated in the instructions :)  Also remember that fonts are “free” and you can add journaling and/or a date to your page if you wish (as well as anything else you would like to do with fonts/text).

Remember that you must post your layout here by 11:00 PM EST (one hour and ten minutes from now!) in order to qualify for the prize drawings.

In just a short while we’ll post the first instruction right here on the blog!  If you’ve never done an event like this before, you’re in for a treat!  Here’s a little more information on how things will work:

• I’ll provide one instruction for you every 10 minutes.
• Often the instruction will tell you a type of material to use.  If no specific instruction is given on how to use that piece of material, then that means it’s totally up to you!
• Fonts…Fonts are “freebies” and can be used without being explicitly called for in the instructions.  This is primarily because journaling is a personal preference, and some folks love it and some don’t :)
• If you have questions about the instruction, please post a comment to the blog.  We’ll answer your questions as quickly as possible!
• The last instruction will be posted at 9:50PM EST.  You’ll have an additional hour to “play with” your layout, but you must post your finished layout to the gallery HERE by 11:00PM EST to qualify for the prize drawings!

YAY!  Are you as excited as I am?!  I hope so!

:: How does it work? ::

Grab a beverage and your favorite snack…and JOIN US right here at the BLOG at 9pm EST on THURSDAY, September 29th!!!  Over the course of ONE HOUR, we’ll give you basic scrapping instructions ONE AT A TIME, every TEN minutes.  At the end of the hour, you’ll have SIX instructions for creating a layout.  Just scrap along as each instruction is given out! ~ too easy!  Then, you’ll have one additional hour to finish up your layout and get it posted in the Shoppe’s gallery.

During the TWO ‘fast and fabulous scrapping’ HOURS, you can add any comments and/or questions you may have right on the blog!  Kylie, SP and I (Beckie) will be co-hosting…so we’ll be sure to keep the instructions coming to you on time (every 10 minutes) and answer all of your questions as soon as they come in.

Let these basic instructions guide you to creating your own FAST and FABULOUS layout!  To give you a couple of examples and a taste of what awaits…these simple steps might include: “Place 4 photos on your layout” and “You must include 5 different papers on your layout”.  We give you simple prompts, you make it all your own!

We hope this is the first of many FAST and FABULOUS speed scrap events to come :)  …and, we welcome your feedback on our VERY FIRST one!!  So, after the two hours of fast and fabulous scrapping on September 29th, feel free to add a comment to the speed scrap post…we’d love to hear your thoughts about the night!  We know that the date and time may not suit absolutely everyone (time zones, busy schedules and the like!!)…we’ve tried our very best to ensure that everyone that wants to participate can join in the fun!  And for that reason our second event will more than likely be held on a Friday night.  We’ll mix it up a little and hope that you can catch at least one, if not ALL, of our Shabby Shoppe Fast and Fabulous speed scraps!!
