Color Palette Inspiration

Hi Everyone :)  Rachel here with a fun little post to give you some scrappy inspiration.

One of my favorite ways to scrap is centered around the photo and story.  And my favorite way to do this has to be uploading my photo to a color palette generator!  I then use the colors it comes up with to scrap my layout.  So I am going to challenge everyone to try it for themselves!!  If you love color then you’ll love this!

I challenged the shabby girls and they came up with some amazing layouts!!  Here are their pages with the photo they started with and the color palette that was generated:

Kylie had a great tip ~ “my photo had heaps of blue and brown/skin tones and the software couldn’t seem to pick up the other colours so I cropped my photo to balance it out“.

If you want to try this out too, here are some sites I’ve found that you might like to use:

Thanks for checking in with us today! Rosy will be here tomorrow with something YUMMY and a freebie too. Don’t miss out on that!! :)

Tips & Tricks ~ stamping over layers

Hi everyone :) Rachel here to bring you a fun little trick for making stamping look more realistic!

Lets get right to it!

  • When your layout is done, and you are ready to finish off with the little details, take your ‘stamp’ ~ in this case the 2009. (My tip: I merged my seperate 2009 numbers to make it easier to work with) Now duplicate your ‘stamp’ layer (right click on your layer and duplicate layer OR ctrl+J)
  • Drag one copy of your stamp layer below the layer you are stamping and the other right above the layer you are on. (Here 2009 is above the pattern paper shape and on the green paper)

  • Clip (Ctrl+G ) the top stamp layer to the ‘pattern’ paper layer (see above photo)
  • Take your bottom unclipped stamp layer and using the eraser OR masking tool (at 100% opacity). Erase a small line between the two (see below photo)

Here is my final layout

Hope you enjoyed my little stamping trick…it is super simple, yet you’ll find it really does bring that perfect touch of realism to your page!

Thanks for checking in with the Blog today! SP will be here tomorrow with her Project SCRAP check-in!
