Good Morning, Anna here, with some thoughts on scrapping!
Inspiration – Where does it come from? How do you get it?
Do you ever notice that perhaps the hardest part of creating a layout is just getting started. As I was scrolling through my Google Reader the other day, I came across a blog post asking the question “share your biggest design challenge.” As I thought about my answer, I was curious to read what others had to say. Some of their answers spoke to me. I noticed that many people wondered where to start and didn’t have confidence in their design skills. Let’s just say that this is totally me! I often try too hard and perhaps I care too much what others think. That kind of attitude is just silly and it makes it much harder to scrap!
Some of my best layouts are the ones I create when I am not trying so hard. I notice when I set out to create a layout to make myself happy, it comes together much quicker and pleases the person that matters most – me! Often, when it pleases me, it will also please others; and who really cares if it doesn’t, because who are you scrapping for?
Yourself and your family – right?
When I look over my layouts, I definitely have more of a simple style. I am often inspired by a color palette or a template shape. When I am looking at something and I just love it, the best thing to do is take advantage of that feeling and open up Photo-shop. When I start in this way, undoubtedly, I will come up with something fun. That’s what happened when I came across this template.
I loved the shapes and thought it would be a fun time to scrap a layout about myself! The funny thing is: I changed things up a bit and decided to use this layout for the Shabby Shoppe Team page! If you click on each Team member’s photo you will find a wonderful scrapbook page about each of them.

Anyway, it seems that I am rambling on, but I wanted to share an idea. If something makes you smile as you look at it, work off of that inspiration and trust that you will create something magical!
“Let go of your doubts. Trust yourself. Create layouts that make you happy.”
