free DECEMBER desktop :o)
Wednesday, November 28, 2012
Hi everyone!! :o) Kylie here to share the new (and free) desktop for DECEMBER! I loved working with the brand new & festively fun Nutcracker Collection for the last desktop for 2012! We hope it brings you lots of joy throughout the month :o)

CLICK HERE to download the 1920 x 1080 version
CLICK HERE to download the 1280 x 800 version
As a quick reminder – your download will be blank where my sweet pic is, of course :o) That way – you can customize it with your own photos and messages. And remember that you can always find our latest free desktop by clicking the FREE DESKTOPS category located on the right side of the blog!
If you are interested in our free desktops, but have no idea how to insert your own photos – please visit our TUTORIALS page and refer to the USING THE PIECE-A-CAKE .PNG FILES TO CREATE AN ALBUM titles :o) We offer this tutorial in both screen shot and video format, for both Photoshop and Photoshop Elements. And, while the tutorial is not specifically for the desktops – the concepts are very much the same…and should help out a lot!
Thanks so much for stopping by today…Kim will be here tomorrow with a fun inspiration post!

I am not finding the file to open in Photoshop in this download. There is something in the file that says .ds_store. When I searched it, it sounds like it’s a mac file. I usually find it with no trouble. Any suggestions?

Hi Andrea :o) Thanks for the question!
For all download files, SP now includes a MAC folder as well as the standard folder…sorry if this made it a bit confusing! :o(
To find the Desktop PNG file, open the main folder and you will see two folders – __MACOSX and SP_FreeDesktop_December2012_1280x800 (of course if you downloaded the other size it will be “SP_FreeDesktop_December2012_1920x1080″). Open the SP_FreeDesktop_December2012_… folder and you will see:
> ds store file
> png file (named “SP_FreeDesktop_December2012_1280x800″) – this is the desktop image file you will OPEN with photoshop
> pdf file – this is just the TOU file with all the credits, including font details etc
Another thing…when opening a file using photoshop make sure that the “all formats” is selected in the “files of type” section at the bottom of the ‘OPEN’ dialog box.
Hope this helped – pls let me know if you are still having problems locating the file and I’ll do my best to work it out for you.
Thanks for stopping by…and happy scrapping!! K :o)

Thank you! I don’t know why I was thinking I needed more than the png, I might have thought it was a jpeg. I guess I’m just use to seeing the photoshop file when I do the Project 2012. Thanks for your reply. I got it now! :)
