I’ve been using a Light Scoop to bounce my flash indoors. I can’t recommend it enough! It’s relatively inexpensive when you compare it to a speed light. It fits on your dslr and uses an angled mirror to direct the flash up instead of into the eyes of your subject.

LOVE your tips, Rosy!!! My indoor photography is sooooo hit and miss…but applying a few of these simple ideas is sure to help! Thanks heaps Rosy! And, I have to add, your photos here are seriously ADORABLE!!!! That’s an amazing shot of sweet Audrey and what a cutie-pie shot of Isaac and Sammy – so so cute!! :o)

btw we sometimes used tissue to cover the flash.

Thank you, ladies! Now that I know what a difference it can make, I need to find a way to do it that doesn’t require an extra hand. I know some people use coffee filters or empty film containers to make their own attachable diffusers.

Thank you for this! I too struggle with the lack of outdoor pictures!
I love the “clean up your house” reminder…I seriously need to think about doing this more often…if only so the mess doesn’t show up in the photo lol!
