Fast and Fabulous ::: INSTRUCTIONS :o)

Whether you’re moving into fall right now like me in the U.S. or into spring like Kylie in Australia, they are often great times to be outdoors.

Let’s take some inspiration from the great outdoors as we speed scrap today!  And as you work on your layout, somewhere you should include the color yellow to represent the sun.  This can be in papers or elements and can be a lot of yellow or just a little.  It’s up to you!

    1. Add two or three photos to your layout.  You may place them in frames if you like (not required).
    2. Add 2 solid papers and 2 patterned papers
    3. Add as much foliage as you want (greenery, leaves, etc) plus 3 different flowers (you can use as many of each as you like, but use only 3 different ones).
    4. Add one wood OR metal element.
    5. To represent wind, add an element or brush scatter.  It can be a scatter from a kit, or you can create your own scatter with an element or brush of your choice.  For ideas, check out Casharina’s tips on working with brushes and scattering -> HERE!
    6. Add a title using a combination of an alpha and a font.

That’s it! :o) …you’ve now received all 6 of your instructions.  You may not add any other elements to your page that haven’t been explicitly stated in the instructions :o)  Also remember that fonts are “free” and you can add EXTRA journaling and/or a date to your page if you wish (as well as anything else you would like to do with fonts/text).

Please post your layout here by 5PM Eastern Daylight Time (one hour and ten minutes from now – so make sure you allow enough time!) in order to qualify for the prize drawings.  If you are having trouble uploading your layout to the gallery, you can find help HERE.

SP, Kylie and I will be posting our layouts shortly if you want to head on over to the Fast & Fabulous Gallery for a peek at how we scrapped along with the instructions :o)

Happy Scrapping!!

Oh No! I just went to post my lo and saw that the gallery rule is that all lo’s must contain 75% SP! I didn’t realize that, and only used a SP alpha. Does that 75% rule apply to the speed scrap?

Aw man, I’m sorry to hear that wasn’t clear! Yes, to post in the gallery, we ask that all layouts be 75% Shabby Shoppe products. Of course we are glad you had fun scrapping along with us today!

Yes, recoloring is completely fine. Although to be fair, if you recolor a solid paper, then it does count as your other solid paper. But the only color requirement in these instructions is to include yellow somewhere. :)

OK, so does our “something yellow” have to be one of the items you added in the instructions today? Or can it be a separate thing (i.e. an element that wasn’t called for in the instructions… as in, not a flower… and not metal or wood… ahem… hahaha)?

The “yellow” is a little bit of sunny inspiration (or whatever that might mean to you in your layout! :o) You can be as creative as you like)!! It needs to be factored in as you follow the instructions…so it’s not something extra. But there is flexibility in that it could be in a patterned paper, a flower or the metal element. Even as part of the scatter. Your choice!! Have fun!!! :o)

Unfortunately, this time the instructions are to use only 2 or 3. We’ll all be a bit challenged today to make all these things come together in a layout, but I’m sure we’ll have some masterpieces to show for it at the end!

This was the part I wondered about… how everyone would feel about having to have some yellow! So we did decide to mention it FIRST so no one was flustered later after photos were picked. Just remember… it doesn’t have to be a LOT of yellow. Just a little pop of yellow can add a little “brightness” to our layouts today. Maybe that helps??
