Hey y’all it’s Casharina bringing you another wonderful Product Spotlight!! I just LOVE putting these together because it helps me focus on the various Shabby Shoppe kits I have in my stash. I love pulling out kits I haven’t used in awhile, and most of all I love to see how others use the same kits to make beautiful layouts which inspire me to try new things in my scrap layouts! Today is no different! I’m focusing on the beautiful Summer Cottage kit and its lovely sidekick Summer Cottage Seasonal Additions.

Summer Cottage is ON SALE for only $4.95 and the Summer Cottage SEASONAL additions is ON SALE for only $2.95…both for a limited time…that’s great savings off the normal Shoppe prices!
These two when combined create some of my favorite layouts. I have used the Summer Cottage Seasonal Additions to add elements to so many of my layouts it’s hard to count! I love the ribbons, the tape, the stickers, the clothes pins and I especially love the glitter! ;) Okay so I believe this is one of my favorite kits from the Shoppe!! I love the earthy blue and tan tones in Summer Cottage; it makes for charming beach layouts, summer day layouts and even fun Fourth of July layouts. There are so many ways to use this kit the results are endless, so to give a better idea, the shabby artists have created a few layouts to give you some inspiration. For starters I created two layouts using this kit, and its sidekick ;)

For my layouts I wanted to focus on the eye-catching papers. I love how the papers are so neutral yet so bold. This kit works so wonderfully with a variety of other kits, as you can see in the second layout below, where I’ve added pieces from Hopscotch and a few others.

Rosy has given us yet another sweet piece of inspiration showing her skills at clustering. You can see here the rustic wooden frame from the kit has been used to bring focus to her beautiful little girl and I just adore how the paper pieces are pieced together to form a quilt like pattern. And from Kylie, as usual, a BEAUTIFUL layout. I love how she too has used the frames and mixed in the large circles…so pretty!

Jenelle has created two, unique 3×4 project life cards to include in her album. I love the simplicity of these cards and the word art and stickers are just perfect!

Kim has also created two inspiring layouts showing just how versatile these kits can be. I love the way that she has used the stars to “cut out” a ribbon from the blue paper, such a great idea. Her second page shows how easily this kit can lend itself to pool photos and so much more. Don’t you just love the waves made from the stitches, they’re just so cute, I would have never thought to have done that. That’s what I love so much about these kinds of post and our awesome gallery here at the Shabby Shoppe!!

I hope we’ve inspired you to see the many ways you can use Summer Cottage, along with its Seasonal Additions!
Thanks for reading, catch up with us again on Thursday when SP brings you her projectSCRAP check-in for June!

Hello and happy Monday to all of our Shabby Shoppe readers! This is Rosy, here to announce the layout of the week.
This week Ladibugbaby‘s vacation layout caught my eye.

I love the carefree feeling that all of the circles create and it looks like her kids were having a lot of fun, but what I like best about this layout is that she has six photos on it and it doesn’t look crowded at all! The variety of sizes and shapes keeps the page from feeling too formal and this is an inspiration for me as I work through a vacation book with lots of photos to scrap, myself.
Congratulations Ladibugbaby and have fun shoppe-ing with your $10 gift card, sent to your email inbox this morning (check your spam/junk folders if you don’t see it)!
Be sure to stop back tomorrow for a spotlight post from Casharina! (hint: today was just a little preview of the inspiration to come!)

Happy Friday everyone! This is Kim and I’m here with another ad inspiration post! It’s been a while since we’ve shared one of these – I hope you enjoy it! While I was looking around at ads for potential scrapping inspiration (you can google “print advertising” and find all kinds of things!), I found several fun ideas. But what ended up really sticking with me was this ad.

Wow, I am not even old enough to remember the days when you could get a Coca-Cola for 5 cents! But I love this ad because of all the Coca-Cola bottles in line. They give the ad depth and movement. And I wondered if I could somehow recreate this idea and make it work for a scrapbook layout. I even had a certain picture in mind with lots of movement of its own that I thought might work. So after working and reworking for a while, here is my layout inspired by the ad.

The elements inspired by the ad may be obvious, but here is what I was focusing on the most:
- The row of frames getting larger as they moved across the page. To me this draws my eye to the main picture.
- The circle for journaling. I don’t think I would have thought to put a circle at all in this layout with all the other rectangular frames, but it was an idea incorporated from the ad.
- The sketch in the background. I absolutely love seeing the sketches Rosy often includes in her layouts. I just don’t think to work them into mine much. But looking at the background of this ad made me think “sketch”, and I had to give this a try. It’s one of my favorite parts of this layout! (And if you would like to try your own sketch from a photo, check out Rosy’s post explaining how to do it.)
- One thing that wasn’t intentionally inspired by the post is the word “trust” in the title. I wanted to find a saying to use in this layout, and trust is what I was thinking of because I love that my husband can throw my youngest in the air really high and he never has any fear or doubt that Daddy will catch him. Funny that trust is also what the ad was talking about!
We’re also sharing a treat with you today – a layered template inspired by the ad that you can download for free! You can CLICK HERE or click the image below to download the template. Happy scrapping! And we would love to see your layouts in our gallery!

That’s all for this week, but Rosy will be here with you on Monday to announce our next Layout of the Week. Bye bye!
