Fast and Fabulous ::: INSTRUCTIONS :o)
Friday, March 30, 2012

-
Find ONE special photo and something to frame it. For your choice of frame you can be as creative as you want – an actual frame, a brush/stamp, stitching, paper matting, etc.
-
Add TWO solid papers and THREE patterned papers to your layout. The patterns should be one polka-dot, one plaid and one other style just for fun! (Do you have a striped paper that coordinates with the other papers instead of a plaid? Here is super quick tip from Rosy to turn that stripe into plaid – Click here!)
-
Add FOUR different types of elements to your page. You may use as many of each element type as you wish. Some examples of element types: buttons, flowers, stickers, ribbons, etc.
-
Find FIVE places to add a fastener. Some examples of fasteners: tape, stitching, photo corners, staples, brads, pins, etc. You can use more than one type.
-
Add as much or as little journaling as you want…but you need to start your journaling off with a QUESTION in one font…and then ANSWER it in another font. (…any extra text and dates are considered ‘freebies’ – so that means it is totally up to you what you add to your page and where)
-
Finally, add a teeny-tiny TITLE and you’re done!
That’s it! :o) …you’ve now received all 6 of your instructions. You may not add any other elements to your page that haven’t been explicitly stated in the instructions :o) Also remember that fonts are “free” and you can add EXTRA journaling and/or a date to your page if you wish (as well as anything else you would like to do with fonts/text).
Please post your layout here by 11PM EST (one hour and ten minutes from now – so make sure you allow enough time!) in order to qualify for the prize drawings. If you are having trouble uploading your layout to the gallery, you can find help HERE.
Happy Scrapping!!

Well, mine was uploaded a few minutes late, but it’s there! Life is crazy, but that was a fun time… gotta love some “me time” for scrapping! Thanks so much for hosting this, ladies. Totally enjoyed it, as always! ;)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 23:29:48
right back atcha, laura :o) thanks!
Mar 30, 2012 @ 23:17:42
I have no idea how you all made such beautiful pages and chatted at the same time. Maybe you have a secret you could share in a blog post.
Mar 30, 2012 @ 23:21:39
lol…well, full disclosure for me and kylie – but we get to work on ours in advance a bit…otherwise – no way we could scrap AND answer questions/do instructions/chat, know what I mean? but – when we scrap our pages – we do follow the rules…though i will be honest and say i never know exactly how long my page takes because my scrapping is NEVER without interruptions, lolol! i do like the earlier suggestion though – to already have a few photos and papers selected…i think that would be a big timesaver :o) and – have to say that your LION KING page is AWESOME…totally love it! thanks a bunch!
Mar 30, 2012 @ 23:45:06
I isolate myself and stick a timer on and scrap away pretending it’s the real thing! LOL!! It’s a challenge not to take my time and change things around and go cluster crazy!! That’s why I love it – it forces me to make snap decisions!! LOL!! Timer goes off and it’s ‘pen’s down’ for Kylie!!! :o)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 23:46:57
I think that is awesome that you guys play along too. Thanks for the fun evening.
Mar 30, 2012 @ 23:48:09
Thanks!! Hope to see you again for the next one! :o)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 23:08:55
I just uploaded it! It is minimal and I would have liked more journaling and a bit more clustering (goodness Kylie you are soooo talented with that) Do not know right now how to link it here but its there. lol.
Mar 30, 2012 @ 22:56:46
I’m not gonna make!!! I want to journal and I do not have enough time! Now I’ve got a big ole space for it and everything looks off.Its bad enough I had to forgo the clustering which takes me FOREVER to do. Aw well. It was still fun.
Mar 30, 2012 @ 23:00:28
Oh that’s a shame – not to worry!! Please upload it when you’ve finished…we’d all love to see your creation!!!
Mar 30, 2012 @ 23:03:40
Ya know – I’m not choosing winners for another 10mins…just to make sure layouts have had a chance to upload…in case the server is busy etc!
Mar 30, 2012 @ 23:14:49
ditto kylie – but i totally understand :o) so happy you decided to upload…it is adorable! you can always go back and tweak it later :o) thanks again!
Mar 30, 2012 @ 22:50:28
I didn’t have time to chat, because I was scrappin away! This was challenging but fun! Thanks for the inspiration and the opportunity to win! I uploaded my lo with a description of the different pieces of the challenge.
Mar 30, 2012 @ 22:57:20
Thanks Amy!!! So happy you joined is with all the scrapping fun!! I know, it get’s a bit too chaotic to think, chat, scrap etc etc all at the same time – LOL!!! Loved your page!! :o)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 23:15:37
thanks so much, amy :o)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:52:01
You’re KILLING me!! Does it have to be a teeny tiny title?? Can it be a big title?? lol this picture COMMANDS an impressive title. You’ll see it :-)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:53:06
Oh no!!! ;o) That’s a challenge!!!……extra text loop hole??
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:54:03
lol alright. I’ll get there.
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:54:49
You CAN do it!!! LOL!!
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:55:04
:o) :o) :o)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:55:18
LOL!! I said the same thing out loud, “teeny tiny title!!!”??? and hubby turned to give me a puzzled look, lol. Well. ok. Teeny tiny title it will be!!
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:58:21
LOL
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:45:44
Multiples are my thing, I need to be forced to do a single photo so this is good for me. I will do a seconding facing page and add away, lol. Found a nice photo finally! Had to go back to 2010 as I scrapped everything from 2011. Thanks SP & Kylie & everyone for ProjectScrap 2011. Loved doing that. btw, went with WHCC for printing and LOVE my book. The lay flat pages are sooo nice. :)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:46:57
Congrats on the finished album!! Fantastic!!! :o)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:47:59
Isn’t it nice to have that project scrap book?? I can never get my ‘poop in a group’ (lolol!!) enough to create an entire book. It was a great way to actually finish a project. When I got that package in the mail I did a super happy dance
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:49:05
LOLOL…and YAY! awesome, chantelle :o)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:51:16
Oh yes I was so excited to get it. I waited long for it because I had to reposition things on my LOs for the size templates WHCC uses, and I added about 5 xtra spreads. Didn’t finish until last week in Feb. But it was worth it. Love to look at it.
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:52:36
let me just say that i TOTALLY understand, carolyn, lol – same here! there was a lot of tweaking AND adding pages there at the end :o) but felt sooooo good to have it all done :o)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:48:17
oh that’s awesome, carolyn….so happy you love your 2011 album…and YES – the lay flat pages rock! so cool :o) and i’m going to do the same with mine – add a second page as i have lots more photos to go with it…but i really like that i got to ‘spotlight’ one for this page :o)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:39:09
OK, So I matted my picture in the beginning and used photo corners. Do they count for this last task as well? or do I have to find more fasteners?
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:42:29
If you consider this your entire FRAME then you’ll have to find more fasteners! OR you could just say the matt is the frame and just find an additional spot for a fastener! I’ll leave that up to you and your creative license!! :o)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:29:49
Holy cow, I need to get my poop in a group. I got so caught up in my ice cream eating and my paper picking that I just realized I haven’t even opened Photoshop yet. O.o hahaha LOL
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:30:50
bahahahahahahahahaha Luckily you have that second hour to tweak (or start!!)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:32:24
Yep, sure do need that extra time hey!! ;o)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:31:03
ROFL :o)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:31:43
and i’ve never heard ‘poop in a group’ – ROFL…our little man will get a kick out of that one :o) thanks for the giggle!
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:33:08
That’s a new one for me too! LOL!!
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:34:37
Well, I was fixing to write “get my $#!7 together,” but wanted this to stay a family-friendly environment… so… I went with the alternate phraseology… ;)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:35:29
You’re too funny!!
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:28:42
Heartfelt is such a great kit SP, I’m loving it! Another question: Is that it for the photos? We are doing a one photo layout? Or will you get tricky on us and say “now add 6 more photos!” lol. :)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:29:30
thank you thank you, carolyn :o) and i feel pretty confident saying this will be a ONE PHOTO layout :o)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:30:00
Just the ONE photo!! (The last couple of speed scraps have asked for multiples so thought it might be fun just to have the one this time!) :o)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:23:44
Does stitching count as an element?
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:25:32
It can, yes! (But I will let you in on a secret…there may be fasteners involved in future instructions…just so ya know!!) :o)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:19:35
So OK, I know we can only have 2 different solid papers and 3 different patterned papers… but can we use them as many times as we like? We aren’t restricted to them only appearing in on place/one block/etc., right? Just checkin’… ;)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:20:33
Can be repeated as many times as you like!!
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:23:13
That’s the answer I am looking for…! ;) MWUAH! LOL
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:23:58
LOL :o)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:23:59
;o)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:16:09
This is my first speed scrap too and I have no idea what photos I will use. Could I have chosen ahead of time, was that allowed? lol. And can you use a template, such as a blog challenge template? Oh my, this is different! But fun too!
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:17:48
Yes – fine to have some ideas up your sleeve in preparation!! And YES totally fine to use a template – just need to adapt it to the instructions as you go along!!
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:19:03
yep…i think having a few photos selected in advance is brilliant…as if you’re anything like me – that can take two hours by itself, lol! GOOD LUCK and just have fun with it :o)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:11:13
My first speed scrap too! Anxious and excited all at the same time! :)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:12:07
YAY!! Glad you could join us!!! xo
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:12:52
WELCOME, stephanie…i hope you love it :o)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:11:09
I bought Heartfelt today and did not even unzip it until right now. thought that would be fun!
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:12:22
oh fun carolyn :o) i am scrapping with it as well! enjoy and thanks!
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:13:07
I’m scrapping with Heatfelt too!!
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:19:48
lol I must be so boring because my first loser thought was “whoa, that’s living on the edge!!” hahahaha
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:22:49
LOLOL!!!
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:09:32
My very first speed scrap. Very excited.
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:10:07
WELCOME!! :o)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:10:13
YAY – welcome susan – you’ll have a blast :o) thanks for joining us!
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:05:13
I’m ramped up and ready to go! I’ve got the keys down to make the speed scrap work for me: 4 or 5 pictures ready to go. 5 or 6 papers selected. Main embellishments selected. All I have to do is make the template as I go. For me the hard part is picking all the items to use. Once that’s done, the rest is in the bag :o)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:05:54
oh that is a GREAT system – brilliant :o) thanks for sharing, Chantelle!
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:09:49
Works for me! By the way, SP, you’ve totally outdone yourself with ‘heartfelt.’ It’s such a versatile kit!
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:14:23
oh THANK YOU, chantelle…that means a bunch to me…the kit very much came from my heart :o)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:04:44
OK, so I never found time to grab my ice cream (might have to sneak that in as we go)… bedtime got crazy, as it always does on nights when hubs is gone and I *need* kids in bed for this sort of thing, LOL… but I am here! And the laptop is fired up! :)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:05:39
So glad you could make it!! Hope the kids are dreaming sweet dreams tonight! :o)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:05:54
Way to go Laura! I wouldn’t be here if my kids weren’t in bed! You’re a trooper
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:06:13
awesome…welcome laura :o)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:11:48
oh, no no no… I’m not *that* kind of trooper! haha… they eventually got in bed (or else this wouldn’t work! they’re 2 and 4, LOL). But they were *supposed* to be in bed at 8pm, and well… I didn’t come back downstairs to set up the computer until like 8:40pm O.o eeek
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:01:32
this is going to be a lot of fun! welcome to all who are scrapping with us :o)
Mar 30, 2012 @ 21:01:02
Here we go guys!!! HAVE FUN! :o)
