Fast and Fabulous ::: Instructions

  1. Add three photos, one solid paper, and three patterned papers to your layout.
  2. Add five different types of elements to your page.  You may use as many of each element type as you wish! Examples of element types include: buttons, flowers, digi stamps/brushes, ribbons, etc.
  3. Add one frame to your page.
  4. Add one type of “fastener in at least three different places.  Examples of fasteners include:  tape, stitching, photo corners, staples, brads, pins, etc.  If you pick stitching, you must use stitching in at least 3 different places.  If you pick tape, you must use tape in three different places, etc.
  5. Add one item that is either metal, cardboard, or fabric to your layout. Even if you previously used one of these items for #2 or #4, select another item now!
  6. Create a title from two different fonts or alphas.  You can use one font + one alpha, two different alphas, or two different fonts!

That’s it!  you’ve now received all 6 of your instructions. You may not add any other elements your page that haven’t been explicitly stated in the instructions :)  Also remember that fonts are “free” and you can add journaling and/or a date to your page if you wish (as well as anything else you would like to do with fonts/text).

Remember that you must post your layout here by 11:00 PM EST (one hour and ten minutes from now!) in order to qualify for the prize drawings.

Happy Scrapping!!

      hi there :o)

      More than likely – it is because of the file size. We have our gallery upload size set to a max of 2mb (which is somewhat large by gallery/industry standards)…so, if your file is larger than that, it will not complete the upload process (although it will appear that it did). For posting to online galleries, most will reduce their layouts to about 600×600 pixels at 72dpi (screen resolution) and save as a JPG file. Most of the layouts that we upload are under 400k – so I think you’ll see that it will be pretty easy to get it under the 2mb limit :o) If you would, please double check your layout file size. If over the 2 meg limit, you would just need to re-size it until you get below the threshold! Also, we have a tutorial for resizing your layouts for web:

      http://www.theshabbyshoppe.com/tutorials/software_tutorials.asp (you’ll find one for photoshop and one for photoshop elements)

      I hope this helps and makes sense – THANKS SO MUCH for joining in the SPEED SCRAP fun :o)

      xoxo – sp

      Sep 29, 2011 @ 23:03:06

      Depends!
      If you’re creating your own wordstips from the paper allowed and using the “free” text, then no – they don’t count as anything except paper.

      If you’re using a pre-made wordstrip from a kit, then it counts as a type of element – but you can use as many wordstrips as you’d like.
