hey guys :o) SP here again today with our new, free desktop for JUNE! June! Did I really just ‘say’ June?! lol…it is RIGHT around the CORNER…and with the change of the month, comes feelings of summer and picnics and outdoor fun! And, for me, I say ‘BRING ON THE BRIGHTS’ lol! I tend to visualize the seasons by COLOR (anyone else do that?)! So, when I think of Fall/Autumn – I ‘see’ burnt oranges, golden yellows, browns, spice reds! Winter – I immediately get images of cool blues, greys, and muted purples (you can throw in an icy pink, too lol)! Spring…it’s all about the pinks, aquas, greens, corals, etc.! And then…SUMMER! I see picnic, beach and lemonade colors, lol! BRIGHT reds, yellows, oranges, greens, blues – you name it! That is where the inspiration came from for the JUNE DESKTOP :o) These colors just make me happy and ready for the heat! It has a bit of a ‘country picnic’ feel to it, what with the plaids and ditsy florals! But, the addition of the polka dots gives it a little whimsy…while the damasks add a little elegance! However you ‘SEE’ it…I just hope you ENJOY it :o) I loved designing it for you…so have fun adding your photos and/or extra touches (plenty of space left on this one to add a poem, journaling, to-do-list, notes, etc.)!

I really liked this wonderful desktop with its lovely photos and calendar placement. I know that this calendar is for June, but I will adjust. Thank you for this so perfect design.

can anyone PLEASE tell me how to do this on a Macbook?? I’ve asked before but didn’t get an answer, so I’m trying again.
does anyone know how to get it onto your desktop once downloaded. it goes to my preview screen and doesn’t let me do anything with it. thanks to anyone who can help. i’ve looked at her help section and didn’t see my answer.

Hi Leigh! Thanks for your question. :o)
Not having a macbook myself I will try at least to point you in the right direction. Please comment back if you still need help. Here goes:
First thing you need to do is open the JUNE DESKTOP png file in your preferred digital scrapbooking software – PhotoShop, Photoshop Elements etc. Add your photos, text, whatever you wish and save your version as a photo file – eg jpg – to your computer -> pictures folder. Need help with that? – here is a link to our tutorial section – choose the ‘using a PIECE-A-CAKE png file’ tutorial under the relevant software: http://www.theshabbyshoppe.com/tutorials/software_tutorials.asp
Next you need to add the newly created image as a Macbook background/wallpaper. To do this, well… I did a GOOGLE search on “how to change wallpaper macbook” in the google video section and found quite a few youtube videos showing you how. You could try this avenue? Hope it helps!
OR, I found this in another forum search:
“You can go to Apple Menu>System Preferences…>Desktop & Screensaver. When there make sure you have desktop selected. You should have a list of folders on the left side of the open window. Choose a folder and you should get a set of wallpapers from that folder. Once you click on it, it changes. If you want to choose one from your photos, click on “pictures folder” and search for your photo.” Leigh – I think you’ll need to do the “pictures folder’ option.
