Product Spotlight ~ Autumn Medley
Tuesday, October 5, 2010
Happy Fall, Ya’ll! I just couldn’t wait to say that, lol! It’s Lu here & I’m happy to be bringing you this week’s Product Spotlight, Autumn Medley.
You know, I actually felt a slight touch of fall in the air for the first time this week. Kinda early for me, too, but I was glad to feel it. The brilliant blue skies, the bright splash of orange color on the pumpkins, the golden shimmer of sun through the leaves… I love it when I see a breeze come through the trees & the leaves start swirling around towards the ground. I usually don’t stand still long enough to catch those moments often, but when I do~ I just soak it up. And that’s what this kit reminds me of, beautiful autumn afternoons. It’s one of those kits that I want to squeeze in all the papers & elements at once, lol! I’ve comforted myself with the notion that rather than put everything on one page, I’ll just create more pages & spread it out…

Isn’t Autumn Medley just gorgeous? As with all SP’s products, there’s a lot of versatility to create a wide variety of layouts. Don’t miss the wondeful sale at The Shoppe to catch this fabulous kit for $5.96!
Have a wonderful Tuesday… and join us again tomorrow for another inspiring Tips & Tricks!

This was my first EVER digi scrap kit! Two years ago this fall I learned to digi scrap and haven’t looked back (or missed a Shabby Princess kit) since then! :)
GORGEOUS layouts ladies! wow, so many gorgeous new ideas!

Lu, how did you make the text curve around the layout so perfectly?

Hi Jasmine! I use PSE so I can’t create text paths. I used a text path from Penny Springman. Within that collection of paths there are multiple shapes: circle, heart, square, etc., with both the “fill” and the outline paths. I honestly don’t use paths a lot (probably because I can’t customize, lol) but it’s nice to have them when you have that one particular instance, lol! If you use PS however, Kylie did an awesome tutorial on text paths in August, under the Shoppe Tips & Tricks. Hope that helps!

By the way, your layout is gorgeous. I really love how you’ve “cut out” the window of your photo.

Thank you, Valerie! SP made it easy for me, I just love that multi-photo frame!

Would you believe I just bought this kit during the sale in the past few days? I love the shade of blue and oranges in this one. So, I can’t wait to use it.
