Hey guys :o) This is just a quick post to share our new (and free) JULY desktop with you! I hope you like it – I really enjoyed combining a few kits (mostly Summer Cottage, but also An Affair to Remember and Sweetie Pie), but staying within the same color palette! As always, the text (except for the calendar dates and the july title) is on my example only – yours will be blank :o) That way – you can add your own names/sayings/message/etc. Have fun working with this one…here ya go:

Do you have anywhere on the blog HOW to insert a picture into these freebies? I’d love to use it! I just downloaded Photoshop Elements and just don’t know how to drop a picture in.

hi Kelly :o) Thanks so much for your interest in our free desktops…and for stopping by! While we do not have any tutorials specifically for the desktops – you will find our USING THE PIECE-A-CAKE PNG FILES… tutorials quite helpful. Our free desktops are essentially the same as our piece-a-cake pages…just 72dpi instead of 300! So – check out those tutorials (we offer them for both PS and PSE…in both screenshot and video formats) and you should be on your way!

Hi again! Thanks SO much for another great deaktop! I use My Memories Suite software, and it is piece of cake to pop together! I do mine with a photo of my children and then send the jpeg on to my Mom for her laptop – if I don’t get it right to her, she gets GRUMPY! I don’t know how I missed this one for a whole week! Guess the holiday threw me off!

Can you explain how to insert a picture in using Photoshop Elements? I’ve moved from a PC to Mac and Photoshop cs7 to Photoshop Elements and kinda of disoriented =)

Kristy, did you ever figure this out? I want to figure it out as well. I just downloaded Elements–the trial version. I’m totally lost! I was using fotofusion on my pc before. Now, I would like to use elements on my mac but I’m clueless!

Thank you, thank you!! I love your desktops!! Every month I go and put in sweet photos of my family and I LOVE being able to quickly have a new (and super cute) desktop.
This is one of the highlights of the beginning of each month for me!

Hi Annie :o) Thanks a bunch and did you not download June’s free desktop? I just wanted to make sure you found it b/c if i remember correctly – i even released it EARLY…a new record lolol! we haven’t missed a month in i THINK going on three years now (i could be wrong on the time…but i know i’ve been doing them for a LONG time lolol). anyway – you can find them easily by clicking on the FREE DESKTOPS category on the right side of the blog…that will always pull up just the desktop posts :o) hope this helps…just didn’t want you to miss any!

Thanks so much! My monitor is 1280×1024 too so I added some dark blue paper (matches the little blue heart) at the top and bottom and it fit my monitor perfectly! SO cute.

PERFECT, Sarah :o) Thanks soooooo much for sharing that…it’s what I always recommend when the size doesn’t work perfectly! I know several scrappers keep a .psd file (sized for their resolution) with a neutral paper and just plop each new desktop on it and voila – done :o) so happy you are able to make them work! really appreciate you stopping by…enjoy!
