LOTW and New Products

Happy weekend!  SP here :o)  We just released some new products at the Shabby Shoppe…but first – let’s take care of some FUN business!  We have a new LAYOUT OF THE WEEK for you!

Nicole had the difficult task of choosing this week’s ‘winner’…and she selected SPWASHING by nana_vg :o)  In NICOLE’S words…

“This layout caught my eye earlier in the week and I just adore it because 1) it uses one of my most favorite Shabby Princess kit, Twirl 2) the title is so unique that it draws you in and you have to read the journaling, which is super cute 3) the layout design is very well balanced and really draws your eye around the page 4) fantastic use of all the really fun elements that this kit has to offer. This layout went straight into my favorite folder for future inspiration! Congratulations nana-vg! Enjoy your $10 gift certificate to The Shabby Shoppe!” –Nicole

Huge congrats :o)  You should have an email with your gift card info – ENJOY!  Such an A D O R A B L E page!

Don’t forget that TODAY is the deadline for our FIRST TEMPLATE CHALLENGE here at the Blog :o)  We will be announcing the winner tomorrow morning – so make sure to get your layouts posted to the gallery SOON (and remember to leave a comment with a link on THE CHALLENGE BLOG POST…not this one :o))!  We have had so many amazing layouts – this has just been so much fun!

Also…the SHABBY ARTIST PRE-TEAM call is now closed!  We have had a tremendous response and now have the difficult challenge ahead of choosing from the super talented group!  We will be very excited to announce the new team on May 27th – so stay tuned :o)

And last – I wanted to mention that we released a couple of NEW PRODUCTS at the Shabby Shoppe last nite!  The TEACHER’S PET products were designed by Nicole to make it easy for you to create gifts for the special teacher(s) in your child’s life!  I won’t ramble on too long about them here…because you can see lots more photos and info on the product pages linked below :o)  They are both on sale for the next week – so pick them up now and have fun creating (and gifting!)!

Below are some example pics of the TEACHER’S PET GIFT COLLECTION:

…and the TEACHER’S PET ACCORDION ALBUM:

I’ve already had lots of requests to add the little apple from the TEACHER’S PET collection to the Shoppe as an add-on product…but thought instead…I’d just go ahead and share it here for FREE :o)  So enjoy!  I created it specifically to coordinate with the SUMMER COTTAGE kit…but I’m sure it will work well with many others, too!

Alrighty – I think that is it for today :o)  Hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday…you’ll see me back tomorrow morning for the TEMPLATE CHALLENGE WINNER announcement!

Beautiful! Thank you for the sweet apple – it will compliment my Summer Cottage kit perfectly. Wanted to let you know I used the Clementine Bloom Box for our teacher appreciation week a couple of weeks ago for my daughter’s teacher and assistants. They all LOVED them. I just used the photo side on front and back and added an extra middle section to have a photo of each child.

Thanks so much for the freebie! I bought the teacher’s pet kit and can’t wait to get started on presents. With the kiddo in a special class, he’s got numerous teachers and teacher assistants and as you can imagine, it can get pricey and difficult to find the perfect gifts. This kit is a life saver. And even more thanks for supplying it now, when I have a little over a month til the end of school! :)

Great new sets and thanks for the freebie. The Epson Super Premium Heavyweight Presentation paper is the way to go for these – I did a Sprout Accordian album for my DIL for Mother’s Day and used that paper with my wide format Epson printer. It turned out wonderfully.

I just thought I’d mention that I use the Epson Presentation paper, too! I print the pocket calendars and CD calendars on that paper every year ;o) I’m a bit too…what’s the word…LAZY (LOL!) to fiddle with the colors or anything – so I just print everything as-is!

These are SO CUTE! we have pre-school graduation coming up this week – this would be the perfect weekend project with the kiddos!! Nicole and SP – wonderful job on these!! :o)

I love the Teacher’s Pet collection! Are there any tricks for printing the digital papers? I’m worried about how much ink it might use, or that the results might not be as good as traditional papers?

Hi Amy…and thanks :o) Ya know – it all really just ends up being personal preference when it comes to printing and papers. A lot of our customers do not print at home and only send out…even for creating hybrid projects. Now for ME…I am always down to the last minute…so sending out for prints is not an option LOL! I almost always go with EPSON SUPER PREMIUM HEAVYWEIGHT MATTE PRESENTATION PAPER (sheesh…say that three times fast lol). I love the matte finish and the weight of the paper. It is not flimsy – but still workable if that makes any sense. I do find that it gets more saturated than some photo papers – so I often adjust the brightness of my image before printing (otherwise, the print looks a little dark and muted). I suggest printing a test page first…then you’ll know how to handle all of the final prints. As far as ink consumption – that’s a tough one :o) it really depends on your printer, your paper, etc. There are arguments for both printing at home and for sending out (there never seems to be a clear-cut winner lol)! So again, it comes down to personal preference…AND…if you are happy with the performance and final results of your home printer. I have a wide format Epson and am generally pretty pleased with it. I hope this helps – at least a little :o) GOOD LUCK and have fun!
